PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Non-adhesive fiberglass tape (also called drywall joint tape) is made of fiberglass mat/tissue. It's the most ideal material for cracks repairing on the drywall, and joints strengthening on the ceilings, gypsum boards, etc. Comparing to the paper tape which is widely used on the market, it's much easier to use, no bubbles or blisters, and can be applied directly to the wall surface without pre-embeddaing required. Its tensile strength is up to 400N/50mm which is much stronger than paper tape. Furthermore, it's non-organic, mold-resistant, long durability, which prevents the possible break that happens to paper tape after 3-5 years.

Fiberglass tape is ideal for patching holes in drywall as well as a paper tape substitute. Before using fiberglass tape, you'll want to know these tips on how to get the best resultsa

Fiberglass  tape is easier to use than paper tape. Paper tape needs to be pressed into a layer of compound and the excess compound removed. The trick is that you must remove surplus compound without wrinkling the tape or removing so much that the tape buckles because you've created dry spots. Faced with all of those paper tape challenges, you'll probably agree that fiberglass tape is worth its extra cost.

Be sure you keep a sharp utility knife blade available to cut fiberglass tape. A dull blade will merely skip over the fabric or snag the threads. If you're tackling a big project, consider getting a tape dispenser. It's a speedy helper for both flat seams and inside corners. Below, we show you how to effectively use fiberglass tape.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Wall must be clean and dry;
Center and apply tape over the length of the joint and pressing firmly;
Apply a generous first coat of compound over the tape and through the mesh, making sure to completely fill the joint crevice. When the joint has been completely filled, wipe off any excess compound with the drywall knife leaving enough to cover the tape;
Let dry completely, then sand slightly;
Apply sufficient thin finishing coats to produce a smooth wall surface;
Cut of butted boards do not have a tapered edge. Therefore, special care must be taken to assure proper compound penetration of all joints. This may result in slight build-up of compound that will require an increased amount of edge feathering.
